From the 1st of January 2012, the Commonwealth, ACT, NT, NSW and Qld have introduced their uniform work, health and safety laws. Tasmania’s uniform laws will commence 1 January 2013. South Australia’s Work Health and Safety Bill is currently being debated in state parliament, while Victoria and Western Australia have yet to introduce legislation in their respective parliaments.
CCH will keep you on top of all the jurisdictions, as well as any changes within these jurisdictions in order to provide subscribers with an opportunity to make arrangements for compliance with the new laws.
With the help of a team of OHS experts, CCH has developed a new content structure, including annotated legislation, to assist subscribers navigate the new laws simply and easily.

- CCH has brought together a pre-eminent team of experts to develop the new product: Cormack Dunn (Freehills), Professor Richard Johnstone (Griffith University), Emeritus Professor Ron McCallum AO (Sydney University) and Wendy Thompson (Denham Chambers)
- This revamped product contains annotated legislation, which means that the text of the Act will be annotated with extensive commentary which will explain the operation of each provision with reference to relevant cases
- The annotations will make clear the extent to which the new OHS laws deviate (if at all) from the existing laws in each of the jurisdictions
- This also contains separate commentary on the key concepts, a historical overview of the harmonisation process as well as how an organisation should ensure compliance with the new OHS laws from a corporate governance perspective (e.g. to comply with the new duty on directors to exercise due diligence)
- Over 2012 we will also be including:
- a practice and procedure section which will assist lawyers and barristers who have to attend court to defend a prosecution; and
- Relevant guidelines and advisory material.
