Business publisher and information group, CCH Australia, has appointed a new managing director to its subsidiary, Access Communications Asia Pacific.

Mr Kevin Ormrod, who formerly worked with CCH, in the area of syndicated content, has become managing director of Access.

Access specialises in monitoring, publishing and researching political and regulatory information on behalf of its clients.

Its services are based around State and federal laws and political processes and include political alerts, bills, lists and tracking (updates of legislation before parliament), government and political directories and speciality publications.

Access Communications was established in 1961 in Canberra and has grown to include offices in Melbourne and Sydney, with the company having no direct competition in the Australian market.

Mr Ormrod's brief is to continue the successful expansion of the business while integrating it into the wider CCH information package, in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

Established in 1969, CCH produces expert content in the areas of tax, law, accounting and human resources and is a subsidiary of international business publishing group, Wolters Kluwer, which recorded sales for 2000 of A$6.7bn.
