1. IntelliConnect Release 2
A number of enhancements have been made to the IntelliConnect platform as part of a programme of continual improvement and refinement. These enhancements include:
- Google®-like search function with filters to easily narrow results.
Filter your results by content type, library, topic or jurisdiction, allowing you to do thorough and systematic research – see only the results you need, fast.
- Find documents faster! Introducing Cross Filters
All filters can now be applied over one another, as Cross Filters. Now you can apply a combination of filters to narrow your search results and find your document faster.
- Print and email PDFs with active links to content so you can save vital documents and easily distribute to colleagues. Easy-to-use with a three panel interface and individual user customisation.
- What's happening nearby?
Click on the ‘Nearby Documents’ link to scroll between Documents in the chapter, just as you would read documents in a book.
2. CCH Tracker
CCH Tracker is the new alerting service from CCH that will deliver the news to you as it happens via RSS, email or in IntelliConnect. Tracker alerts you to change in a quicker and more flexible format.
Tracker replaces the many different types of alerts and newsletters that CCH has traditionally published. Traditional newsletters are being phased out of production over the course of 2010.
There are over 40 Trackers - Tax, Business Law, Accounting, Family Law, Employment and many more.
You can select relevant news articles from your Tracker archive and compile them into an exportable PDF that you can share with colleagues.
Tracker for IP anonymous users
We will be in contact with you in the near future to discuss how Tracker can best be used by clients with IP anonymous access to CCH web resources.
You can currently view all your Trackers on the IntelliConnect platform. Each library has a number of Trackers. For example, the Company, Corporate & Securities Law library has the Australian Corporate, Company and Securities Law Tracker.
3. Events Based Publishing
Events Based Publishing replaces the traditional form of scheduled web title updating. Updates used to occur according to a regular publishing schedule that echoed updates to our print titles. From Q3 2010, updates to web titles will happen whenever information is ready to be published. Thus a new case will be published as soon as it is ready to be published. Commentary will be updated and posted online as soon as new information is available with which to update commentary.
This will ensure a continual flow of timely information to our customers and will improve the timeliness and speed of the reporting of new events.
4. Usage Stats
We had intended to provide our university library clients with quarterly usage stats on an ongoing basis. Unfortunately, we have not been able to do that so far this year. However, we do intend to provide university libraries with a usage stats report for the first six months of 2010 in July. Quarterly reports will follow thereafter.
We do not have the facility for users to create their own usage stats reports.
The new reports are based on the IntelliConnect platform and record different information to the previous reports. Please click here for a fuller description of the differences between the old and new usage stats reports.

7. Major New Title
Master Financial Statements – new print and web title.
CCH has teamed up with Financial Reporting Specialists to bring you the new Master Financial Statements. This publication will assist accounting professionals in the preparation of upcoming financial statements and will become an invaluable resource every financial reporting period.
The International Accounting Standards Board’s (IASB) moratorium on the implementation of new standards, which provided preparers of financial statements with a stable platform over recent years, has now ended. The next wave of accounting standards (Phase II) is now here. As the accounting standards and their disclosure requirements continue to change and expand, statutory compliance is more difficult and challenging.
The Master Financial Statements provides a practical, clear and adoptable format for financial statements for a range of entities, focusing on how to disclose rather than why we disclose. Now it is as easy as ABC to for you to copy or follow the format with confidence and ease.
All the disclosures are appropriately cross-referenced to the original source literature should you need additional guidance on why a particular disclosure is included.
The Master Financial Statements is available as a two-volume book or as an online updating subscription service.
